FOREST MANAGEMENT
Whiskey Jack Forest
The planning process for the 10-year management plan (2023 to 2033) is underway. This is a process that will take approximately two years, with a projected completion date of December 2022 and plan implementation scheduled for April of 2023. Over half of the identified values in the Wabauskang GIS database are in the Whiskey Jack Forest, so Obaushkong Aki will be facilitating a customized consultation process to ensure that the community will have opportunity to be actively involved in the planning process. The planning team meets every three to four weeks. Obaushkong Aki staff have participated in the first few planning team meetings and we are currently considering how to best structure and implement a customized consultation approach for the community.
